The first question for today: What is Minoxidil?
Well, I’ll answer to this question in few words (or not :) ). First off all the Minoxidil was discovered before 1980′s but it wasn’t used to treat hair loss or baldness. It was used to treat high blood pressure, during that time that users discovered a weird side effect which was hair growth. After the 1980′s a few companies created a topical solution with Minoxidil. The topical solutions normally contained 2% Minoxidil for women and 5% Minoxidil for men. And so the miracle happened
) and the old treatment for blood pressure it is now our key for stop hair loss and start regrowth.
Minoxidil is an antihypertensive vasodilator medication which also slows or stops hair loss and promotes hair regrowth. Now off-patent, it is available over-the-counter for the treatment of androgenic alopecia. Minoxidil must be used indefinitely for continued support of existing hair follicles and the maintenance of any experienced hair regrowth. It is marketed under many trade names, including Rogaine/Regaine, Spectral.Uhp, Vanarex, Mintop and Loniten (oral), and Avacor Physician’s Formulation (Avacor also produce a number of hair loss treatments that do not include minoxidil).
